A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Thursday morning involving a Wake County school bus in Willow Springs.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on Kennebec Road at Bud Lipscomb Road.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the motorcycle, driven by as Michael Jones, 22, of Hope Springs, was traveling north on Kennebec. A Wake County Public School System bus was traveling in the other direction and was turning left on Bud Lipscomb. That's when the motorcycle ran into the school bus.

Willow Springs High school confirmed it was one of their buses involved in the incident. No students were on the bus at the time.

No charges have been filed yet, NCSP said. This is an ongoing investigation.
