Cycling advocates are urging Montreal mayor-elect Soraya Martinez Ferrada to clarify her “mixed signals” regarding the city’s bike path network and to ensure ongoing projects aren’t abandoned.

In what they’re calling a “people’s inauguration” of the project, cyclists will gather Sunday at the partially built Réseau express vélo (REV) bike lane on Henri-Bourassa Blvd.

The goal is both to celebrate the protected bike path, which is part of a larger overhaul of the boulevard, and push back against any possible rollbacks from the new administration.
