A person was rescued from a Massachusetts swamp on Wednesday, fire officials said.

The person was reported missing in the woods off Route 128 in Manchester by the Sea on Wednesday evening, bringing out police officers and firefighters, local fire officials said.

Dispatchers were able to determine where the person was using mapping technology, allowing police to spot the person and find the best way to direct firefighters to them in the watery swamp.

The fire department shared images of a rescuer in a wetsuit wading through reeds toward the person.

Firefighters didn't share how the person got stuck in the swamp or their condition upon being rescued.
