Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is reportedly sending mixed messages over pressures from the White House and President Donald Trump to drop her support of the discharge petition to prompt the Department of Justice to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Trump apparently called her and had a situation room meeting on Wednesday with Boebert, one of four Republicans expected to vote in favor of releasing the files from the late financier and pedophile, The Daily Beast reported Thursday.

Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel were also reportedly in the meeting, and Boebert signaled she declined to remove her name from the petition.

However, in a social media post and an interview late Wednesday, Boebert appeared to tell the conservative outlet Daily Caller that "there was no pressure" and "everybody was great and worked just well with me."

"I don't feel marginalized at all. President Trump is an amazing man. I stand by him," she said.

Later, she shared a post on X with the two open eyes emoji and a video from Kyle Clark from NBC affiliate 9News in Denver, Colorado, that she was "brave" and might have been pressured by Trump and the administration.

“By all appearances, Boebert did defy the president, despite the pressure and the reported threats,” Clark said. “Stood firm against the wishes of her party and her president.”

“Regardless of how viewers feel about Boebert’s politics, anyone who cares about children, accountability, and transparency owes her their thanks,” Clark said.
