There are a lot of rubbish electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Australia, ranging from ones with perennially offline plugs to others located in dingy carparks next to dumpsters.

However, the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) says it has found the best public charger in the country, and it's in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.

Unsurprisingly, it's a Tesla Supercharger station, and it's located in New Italy.

Now open to all EVs and not just Teslas, this location won AEVA's Best Charging Station award for 2025 for various reasons.

It features a large solar array that not only provides power, but also shades the 12 charging bays which offer up to 300kW of power.
