Rolling Stone Films and Documentary+ will screen two new shorts at the 2025 DOC NYC festival: The Spiritual Advisor , about a priest and activist who works with death row inmates; and Oh Yeah , which digs into the cultural history of Yello’s 1985 song of the same name , an offbeat one-hit wonder that became synonymous with Eighties excess.
The Spiritual Advisor , which was directed by Joel Fendelman, will have its world premiere on Nov. 16 and it’s slated for a wider release in Spring 2026. Oh Yeah , which was directed Nick Canfield, will screen Nov. 13 and has been selected for DOC NYC’s Short List: Shorts, one of the most prestigious honors at the festival. The film will have its official streaming release Nov. 25 on Rolling Stone and Documentary+.
