A 6-month-old baby is missing and believed to be in danger after a violent domestic incident in York City, police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Officers were called to 54 Carlisle Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, for a reported domestic dispute, according to York City Police. When they arrived, the suspect, Pedro Luis Vega-Rivera, 31, had already fled. Investigators said he took the infant, Amiyah Rivera, by force during the dispute and made verbal threats to harm her before escaping the scene.
Amiyah was last seen in Vega-Rivera’s custody and may be at special risk of harm or injury, police said. A statewide Missing Endangered Person Advisory was issued Wednesday morning. The pair may be traveling in a black 2020 Nissan Altima with Pennsylvania registration MRM3747.
Anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or contact York City Police at 717-846-1234 or 717-849-2219.
Suspect’s Criminal History
Court records show Vega-Rivera is facing an extensive series of active cases across York and Lancaster counties. In York County, he is charged with felony strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, unlawful restraint, and harassment connected to the November 12 incident that triggered the search for the missing infant.
He also has an earlier open case in Fairview Township involving felony burglary, flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest, false identification, theft, drug offenses, and multiple traffic violations stemming from an October 21 investigation.
A separate Fairview Township case charges him with two counts of felony theft by unlawful taking from an incident reported on November 7.
In Lancaster County, he has an active case in the Court of Common Pleas for terroristic threats and harassment filed after a Columbia Borough incident in November 2024.
A statewide court summary lists these open cases and additional past offenses, including drug paraphernalia and summary violations.
Vega-Rivera is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Call 911 If Seen
Police consider Vega-Rivera dangerous and urge anyone who spots him, his vehicle, or baby Amiyah to avoid approaching and contact authorities immediately.
