BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - A man has died after being fatally hit by a vehicle in Bloomington.

Bloomington police and fire were called around 7:10 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Veterans Parkway between Oakland Avenue and Lincoln Street for a pedestrian reportedly hit by a vehicle.

Officers and then paramedics began rendering aid to the man before he was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy is pending. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

No other serious injuries were reported.
