CHARLESTON - Hedgesville was in unfamiliar territory on Thursday during the Class AAAA state volleyball tournament.
Heading into the title game, the Eagles hadn't lost since September - with only a couple of ties sprinkled in between - and had only suffered just three losses in the regular season. Unfortunately for Hedgesville, its first loss in about two months came in the season's final contest, as it fell to Morgantown 3-1 (22-25, 20-15, 25-16, 14-25) in a rematch of last year's championship game, ending an impressive run not only for the entire team but its successful group of seniors.
"I mean, 10 seniors, they are not a group of seniors that lose easily. We only had three losses, plus this one, on the season. We played a pretty tough schedule," Hedgesville coach Allison Whitford sai
