Brent Garn Capener, 77, passed away November 6, 2025, in Logan, Utah after a short-fought battle with Liver Cancer.

Brent was born June 17, 1948, in Logan, Utah to Max Garn and Melba Jones Capener and was their second child. He spent his formative years working on the Capener family farm in Garland, Utah.

He graduated from Bear River High School in Garland, Utah in 1966 where he was active in the sports and music programs. He was also a four-year graduate of the Bear River LDS Seminary. After serving a mission in the Northwestern States he went on to graduate from Utah State University in 1974 with a BA in Political Science and Business Administration.
