Police in Newark are investigating an overnight collision that left two vehicles heavily damaged in the city’s Central Ward.
Emergency responders were called to the intersection of University Avenue and Court Street shortly before 2:40 a.m. after reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, officers found two cars with significant damage at the scene, located just outside the old Star-Ledger building.
According to initial findings, all occupants were able to exit their vehicles on their own, and no severe injuries were reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
