The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has arrested a man in connection with a Tuesday road rage shooting on U.S. 285, the department announced on Thursday.

Matthew Impellitteri, 56, faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder after deliberation and two counts of attempted first-degree murder — extreme indifference.

The sheriff’s office has accused Impellitteri of shooting a person in the head during a road-rage crash, which occurred about 9 miles southwest of Morrison. The victim, who has not been identified, is in critical condition, according to the news release.

Officers arrested Impellitteri at his home in the 8400 block of South U.S. 285, which is near where the shooting took place.
