Joy Behar is opening up about the injury that pulled her away from "The View" cohosting duties.

Returning to the show after a multi-day hiatus on Friday, Nov. 14, Behar, 83, recounted the "painful" injury that sidelined her, showing off a bandaged foot.

"Now, I've been off for a few days, as you might have noticed," Behar said, sitting alongside her cohosts. "Well, here's what happened. So I dropped my iPad on my foot, and I broke my toe."

She continued: "What they do is they put the toes together because it's broken. And it's very, very, very painful. I cannot recommend you dropping anything on your toe."

"Wasn't Sunny [Hostin] trying to talk you into a bigger iPad just a few weeks ago?" cohost Ana Navarro chimed in, to which Behar responded: "Yes, she was. Very sadistic of you."

Behar was absent from back-to-back episodes of the ABC daytime talk show earlier this week. Behar is typically off from "The View" on Mondays, which extended her overall absence to four consecutive shows. While her cohosts previously revealed that it was a foot injury that caused her absence and promised a return, the details weren't originally clear.

During the Nov. 14 show, co-host Sunny Hostin revealed that in the wake of Behar's injury, her husband Manny, an orthopedic surgeon, stepped in.

"Manny and I hear that Joy has dropped his iPad on her foot. So I texted Joy, and I said, 'Manny’s having office hours. Would you like him to go to your house to look at your foot?' And that didn't happen. But Manny said, 'Have her send me a picture of her foot.' And he asked Joy, 'Is there any swelling or bruising? Because that is a sign of a break.' She said, 'Absolutely not. No swelling, no bruising.'"

But "when he when he got that picture, Joy, I mean her third toe looked like her big toe. Come on," Hostin joked. Behar laughed along, and revealed to the audience that she got a boot to help with recovery later in the day.
