Some 181 libraries in the Tennessee Regional Library System, in 91 of the state's 95 counties, received letters from the Secretary of State in October requiring a full audit of the libraries' juvenile books to better align them with Trump administration standards on gender topics.
Patrons of the Smyrna and Murfreesboro branches in Rutherford County will be unable to use the facilities between Nov. 10-15 following a letter from Hargett requiring a full audit of the branches' juvenile collections within 60 days to root out any books seen to promote "gender ideology."
