Since Macedo is behind by just 0.16% of the votes, the state would pay for a recount if it happens.
Macedo has 10 days to decide if he’s going to call for a recount.
The Abstract of Votes by the Electoral Board were:
Michael Sutphin: 5,573 votes
Peter Macedo: 5,555 votes
Sutphin was announced winner over a week after Election Day on Wednesday after the Electoral Board counted provisional ballots.
