LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredo City Council revealed the first renderings from Homeland Security for a border wall during a special meeting .

The concepts and variations shown were negotiated and submitted by the city on Friday, November 14. The mayor said in his opening remarks that the next step will be formal negotiations with Homeland Security, with designs aimed at boosting the value of the river area while ensuring border security.

He also called the talks an opportunity for the city to secure favorable terms and stressed that the city must approach negotiations in good faith.

The city manager gave an update on the city’s position but noted that the entire strategy cannot be shared publicly.
