FREMONT, Mich. — If you're at Fremont Middle School after hours, listen closely. You'll hear no crowd cheering. No rustle of pom poms. No roar of the fans.
Just a janitor's cart rumbling down the hallway, pushed by none other than Nina Jameson.
"I'm the head night custodian at Fremont Middle School," Nina said.
She's the night shift's star player—in her final season.
"When everybody's out of the building, that's when we really start cleaning," she explained, pushing her cart down an empty hallway.
Her favorite part of the job?
"Seeing the teachers," Nina said. "I will miss them when I retire."
After 18 years of working in silence, her home team made her final season end with the loudest thank you of all.
"She's just consistent. She's been here, you know, since I started," said teac
