The public is being asked to avoid an area in Nose Hill Park while Calgary police investigate

Police are investigating what appeared to be human remains found at Nose Hill Park Friday morning.

A pedestrian came across what they believed to be human remains and police were called to the scene shortly before 11 a.m.

Investigators remain on scene conducting searches, and the public is asked to avoid the area this weekend while the investigation is ongoing.

Further information will be made available after the completion of an autopsy, police said, pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner that the death is deemed suspicious.
