KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Two Rivers Public Health Department is reporting a death of a community member due to complications related to COVID-19.
The health department said this is the first death during the 2025-2026 respiratory season. The person was a resident in the health district’s seven-county coverage area.
That area covers Buffalo, Dawson, Franklin, Gosper, Harlan, Kearney and Phelps counties.
TRPHD said “Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.”
The health department says this tragic loss is a somber reminder of the importance of taking precautions during the current respiratory season.
All residents are urged to stay up to date on influenza and COVID vaccinations and boosters
