Federal Liberal members from the party’s Ontario wing are gathering in Hamilton this weekend for their annual convention.
The event at the Hamilton Convention Centre was expected to attract delegates from across the province — and a few cabinet ministers — as the party looks ahead to the national Liberal convention next April in Montréal.
The two-day gathering , which started Friday evening, will feature keynote speeches, discussion panels and the election of a new board of directors for the Ontario branch of the federal party.
It was unclear how many senior government members might make an appearance in Hamilton, but new Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Gregor Robertson arrived in town late Friday.
The keynote address for Friday was titled “Making Housing More Affordable.”
