FORT WORTH, Texas — Noraneli Lopez thought something was wrong when school employee Felecia Myers walked her toward the front of her daughter's school, J. Martin Jacquet Middle School.
She asked what was happening, unsure why she had been called to campus.
“You just hold my hand," Myers said.
Lopez had no idea a surprise was waiting for her, organized by Myers and Citizens On Patrol volunteer Fred White.
“She was truly in shock. She had no idea. Actually, she thought she was coming to get a food basket," Myers said.
That's because Lopez has received help in the past from her daughter's school. Last year, the school made sure they had toys as part of their Christmas holiday celebrations for her eighth-grader and two other daughters. The school has even referred Lopez to a mechanic who
