ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Missouri Department of Public Safety is seeking to remove the peace officer license of a former Phelps County police chief.

On Thursday, the Department of Public Safety filed a complaint for discipline against Carl E. Swanson’s peace officer license. This comes after Swanson was charged in two different criminal cases in Phelps County.

On Sept. 16, Swanson was charged by the Phelps County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child in relation to the death of his son.
