GARDNER, Mass. —

A hallway brawl at Gardner High School is raising questions and concerns about whether or not the school did enough to address the issue.

Video circulating on social media appears to show a high schooler swinging her metal Stanley mug at another student in a fight last week.

On Friday night, the mother of the apparent victim spoke with NewsCenter 5 and is concerned for her daughter's safety.

"Sending her to school is rough for me to do," the mother said. "I feel like I'm sending her into the lion's den."

The victim is a freshman who thinks the senior who allegedly attacked her thought she was laughing at her.

"It's horrific, it's definitely, like, an embarrassing sight," the victim said. "I don't think it was justifiable in any way."
