FAYETTEVILLE -- The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville's national Multi-User Silicon Carbide Research facility will act as a "bridge" between university research and commercial production while transforming "silicon carbide research and education in this country," promulgated Kim Needy, dean of UA's College of Engineering.

MUSiC , a "one-of-a-kind facility, represents the very best of what we can accomplish when we dare to lead," and it will allow students to learn on industry-leading technology while exposing the next generation to "the exciting field of engineering," added Needy. The facility will also "promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and produce more STEM students in Arkansas."
