Train passengers are being advised not to travel as Storm Claudia causes havoc to services.

Tonight Northern trains warned people not to travel on all the services it operates in the North West, for the rest of the day.

It said rail replacement buses would not be available, and that there would be a reduced service on a number of lines including from Manchester to Wigan and Liverpool.

Northern said: "Heavy rain and winds are expected on Friday 14 November and Saturday 15 November. A number of yellow weather warnings for wind are in place.
