Part of Oldham bus station's roof was damaged tonight as Storm Claudia hit the town.

Images from the scene appeared to show part of the roof structure hanging down.

A cordon was in place, amidst heavy rain and strong winds.

Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed that part of the roof had been damaged as a result of the storm.

A spokesperson said that services were transferred to other nearby locations.

People planning on travelling are being urged to check ahead using the Bee Network website.

A TfGM spokesperson said: "As a result of Storm Claudia, part of the roof at Oldham West bus station has been damaged this evening (Friday).
