Northern Nevada Public Health is alerting Nevadans about a nationwide recall of ByHeart infant formula tied to a federal investigation into infant botulism.
Nearly two dozen suspected or confirmed cases have been reported across 13 states, including California, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The company is voluntarily recalling all batches of its Whole Nutrition Infant Formula cans and Anywhere Pack products after the FDA notified ByHeart of a broader probe.
No supply issues are expected as the brand accounts for about 1% of U.S. formula, according to the FDA. Parents should stop using the products, throw them away and sanitize anything the formula touched. They should also watch for symptoms and contact a clinician if needed.
