Winning Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu credited his victory to the party’s policies and the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying the people of Majha had delivered a decisive mandate for honest governance and peace.
When asked about AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s “guarantee” to end gangsterism within seven days of the Tarn Taran bypoll win, Sandhu, speaking in chaste Majhail accent, responded, “Gangster? Thoka ge k”.
Sandhu said the people of Majha had shown remarkable courage “in the face of intimidation”. “The brave people of Majha were not afraid of the gangsters who threatened them and asked them to vote for SAD. Instead, they stood with the truth and voted for AAP,” he said.
