SEATTLE — After being closed for almost a year , security Checkpoint 6 will reopen at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Monday.

The reopening comes ahead of a busy Thanksgiving travel week, which is expected to bring around 900,000 travelers through the airport from Wednesday, Nov. 26 to Monday, Dec. 1. Sunday is expected to be the busiest day, with around an estimated 180,000 passengers arriving, departing and connecting in Seattle.

The redesigned checkpoint includes twice as much space for the security line and three times as much space after the screening.

Checkpoint 6 will offer General, PreCheck, Touchless ID, Premium and CLEAR+ screening options, with easy access to the D and N concourses.

In June, SEA Airport also opened a new Checkpoint 1 on the south end of Bagg
