Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas this week on a third-degree felony charge of assault, according to records viewed by The Post.
TMZ was first to report Beverley’s arrest, adding that he was taken into custody in Fort Bend County and was booked on the family-violence charge.
He posted $40,000 bond.
Beverley is expected to be released later on Friday night.
Jail records indicate that the alleged assault was on a family/household member and impeded breath or circulation.
Details surrounding the alleged incident have not yet been made public.
A third-degree felony in Texas carries a potential penalty of two to 10 years in prison if convicted.
