Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley has been taken into custody in Texas on a felony assault charge. Authorities confirmed he was detained at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in Richmond on Friday before being booked shortly after.
Following the unsettling news of his arrest, Beverley addressed the situation publicly through a message on X.
“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv,” Beverley wrote.
According to officials, the allegation against Beverley involves assault on a family member, impeding breath or circulation. It is classified as a third-degree felony under Texas law.
