MANCHESTER, Ohio (WXIX) - One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting occurred during a barricade situation in Adams County Friday afternoon.
Troopers said it began when the Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a person concerned for their safety and a chase ensued.
Crews on scene said the chase began in Peebles and ended along the 4100 block of Ohio Brush Creek Road in Manchester, reaching over 100 mph, before the suspect got out of the car and ran into a home.
Troopers said after trying to negotiate a surrender, the person then exited the residence armed and was shot Ohio State Highway Patrol and the West Union police.
The suspect died at the scene.
Troopers said that there is no threat to the public and no officers were seriously injured.
