It was easily the ugliest game of the season for the Windsor Spitfires.

The No. 3-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League never held a lead on Friday allowing a season-high eight goals against in an 8-5 road loss to the Guelph Storm at the Sleeman Centre.

“Unbelievably bad in all areas,” said Spitfires’ head coach Greg Walters, who saw his team slip to 15-4-2-1 on the season. “The individual mistakes, the (lack of) attention to detail, a lot of guys are on their own page right now and it’s not working.”

Let’s put it in perspective

This was awful from the outset with the Spitfires down 3-0 after the first period.

“Three goals that guys missed assignments and you can’t win that way,” Walters said.
