HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police have released body camera video of officers responding to a shooting that claimed a pregnant woman's life and injured two others.

An officer was conducting an unrelated traffic stop nearby at the time of the shooting at a homeless encampment behind a Harwin strip mall just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 16.

The officer fires about a half dozen shots in the direction of the initial gunshots, but police say the officer's bullets didn't hit anyone.

Surveillance video obtained by Eyewitness News shows a man opening fire into a crowd of people after an apparent argument.

Men and women go running in all directions, and the officer's gunshots can be heard, sending the suspect running.
