JEFFERSON — A woman accused of killing her mother has been determined to be unable to assist in her own defense following a Friday afternoon competency hearing before Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court Judge David Schroeder.

Ashley Keenan, 34, is charged with shooting her mother in the driveway of her home on Jan. 11, 2024, and fleeing to Canada, where she turned herself in to authorities in the Toronto area.
