An early fumble-return 91 yards for a touchdown flipped the script of Friday's Class 5A quarterfinal showdown, and Belvidere North took it and ran ― literally and figuratively ― all the way to a 17-10 victory.

After Cary-Grove drove to the Blue Thunder 9-yard line in 13 plays on its opening drive, senior defensive back Jackson Johnson plucked a fumble out of the air and sprinted nearly the length of the field for the game's opening score just over five minutes in.
