It was a week that started with Sir Keir Starmer attempting to smoke out the traitors in his top team, with Wes Streeting seeing his name on the chalk plate for banishment; and it ended with serious doubts over the prospects of one of the most faithful members of his Cabinet, Rachel Reeves.
The Prime Minister’s Downing Street operation this week drew comparisons with the hit TV show The Traitors when it launched an astonishing briefing war against Labour MPs for conspiring against Starmer and naming Health Secretary Wes Streeting as one of the lead antagonists.
For his part, Streeting branded it “the worst attack on a faithful since Joe Marler was banished in The Traitors final” as he demanded the person behind the claims be banished from No 10 . New Feature
