Walkinshaw Andretti United star Chaz Mostert has stormed into the BP Adelaide Grand Final after a commanding Saturday victory at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500.

The Gold Coast hero was again the class of the field, leading from the start after teammate and pole-sitter Ryan Wood eased off into Turn 1.

But the biggest story beyond Mostert was the Red Bull Ampol Racing duo. Will Brown pulled off a stunning comeback, charging from 15th on the grid to finish second, while Broc Feeney climbed from seventh to fourth, both now sitting in provisional Grand Final spots.

“Thanks to all the fans for coming out today. I owe Woody a beer tonight, he saved my bacon out there,” Mostert said after the race.

The WAU driver admitted tyre wear was a battle but celebrated his third straight win.
