Perennial contenders — and longtime rivals — University and Eaton positioned themselves within one win of qualifying for the finals during the second of three days of high school girls volleyball state tournament action Friday at the Denver Coliseum.
Meanwhile, two other local teams — Windsor and Resurrection Christian — kept their seasons alive but were left with some work to do if they were going to join the Bulldogs and Reds in the semifinals Saturday afternoon.
Competition resumed Saturday morning, leading up to the finals at 6 p.m.
Most of action on Saturday was set to take place after the Tribune’s copy deadlines for Sunday’s paper.
