Jordan Rodriguez may be on his way to Boston College to play safety next year.

But on a cold night of playoff football at Caven Point, it was a kick return that saw him impact the game the most for his St. Peter’s Prep team.

With his team up 10-7 and momentum swung against them, Rodriguez busted a 83-yard kickoff return that would ultimately spur St. Peter’s Prep - No. 4 in the NJ.com Top 20 - to a 31-17 victory over St. Augustine in NJSIAA/Xfinity Non-Public A quarterfinal action Jersey City.

Now 8-2 on the season, the Marauders will host a semifinal in Jersey City against tomorrow’s St. Joseph (Mont.)/Delbarton winner. Kickoff for that game will be at 6PM, it was announced.

St. Augustine, a very young squad with many sophomores in its lineup, finished its campaign with a 6-4 mark.
