Robinson survives, advances by Fairview
Kevin Williams helped Joe T. Robinson avoid a major postseason upset Friday night.
The senior running back scored three second-half touchdowns for the Senators, who rallied from a third-quarter deficit to beat Camden Fairview 38-27 in the opening round of the Class 5A state playoffs at Charlie George Stadium in Little Rock.
Williams, who missed some time in the first half with an apparent leg injury, scored on a 2-yard run with 7:59 left in the third quarter to give Robinson (11-0) its first lead. He tacked on two more scores to send the Senators into next week's second round, where they'll host Farmington (9-2), which shut out Harding Academy 44-0 on Friday night.
But Camden Fairview (5-6) pushed Robinson in the first half.
