Oklahomans planning this year's holiday feast may have noticed that their Thanksgiving turkeys are more expensive this year. And at the same time, other items like eggs and butter are surprisingly cheaper.
According to a new report from Texas A&M AgriLife , the cost of centerpiece turkeys is soaring, thanks in large part to the deadly return of avian flu and a drop in national turkey production.
But it's not all bad news. Grocery stores are still rolling out seasonal deals, and discount chains like Aldi, Walmart and even Amazon are jumping into the holiday spirit with budget-friendly Thanksgiving bundles that promise a full feast for under $40.
