With chants of “we want the cup,” fans made their feelings clear as the Saskatchewan Roughriders climbed onto chartered buses in anticipation of the 112th Grey Cup.

With Saskatchewan headed to the CFL’s championship game for the first time since 2013, diehard fans gathered in front of Mosaic Stadium earlier this week to show their Rider Pride before the team departed for Winnipeg.

The Roughriders face the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday at Princess Auto Stadium.

“As a Rider fan, this is everything. This is what they play for,” Brent Shirkey said as players and staff walked past. “Traditionally we don’t get a lot of (championship) wins, so every time we get a chance it’s very exciting. It’s the whole reason why we come up to support. ”
