A man has been left in a critical condition after being attacked outside a business premises in a lane. ‌

Emergency services were called to a report of a disturbance on Harrow Inn Close, near the High Street in Elgin , where two men were involved in an altercation. ‌

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 3.15pm on Friday, November 14. ‌

A 55-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being "seriously assaulted". He is described as being in a critical but stable condition.

Officers from Police Scotland quickly locked down the scene and detectives are now appealing for information.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 20s, of slim build with short ginger hair, and spoke with a local accent. ‌
