An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in North Philadelphia overnight.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, Nov. 15, around 12:30 a.m. along the 6900 block of North Lambert Street. Police confirmed with NBC10 that a man in his early 20s was shot in the head and died from his injuries.

Police have not released the victim’s identity, a description of a suspect or details on what led to the shooting.

As of Friday, Nov. 14, there were 192 reported homicides in Philadelphia in 2025, down more than 14% from the same time last year which ultimately saw the lowest number of homicides in a decade, according to police data.
