GREEN BAY — Josh Jacobs got home from Lambeau Field on Monday night and walked right past the nearly two dozen people in his house — including his father, a couple of his uncles and other family and friends — and went straight to his bedroom.
The Green Bay Packers veteran running back was at a loss. As the engine that had made the Packers’ offense go a year ago, Jacobs has spent most of this season in neutral — and at times in reverse, like the fateful fourth-and-1 play late in the fourth quarter on which the blocking broke down and he was thrown for a 4-yard loss. The play essentially clinched the Packers’ 10-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
And so, Jacobs didn’t want to talk. To anyone. So he ignored the crowd of 22 people — “The most I’ve ever had at any game in my career,” he said
