A man charged with murder after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in a city district has been named as he appeared in court.
Police officers were called to Abbotsford Drive, in St Ann's, Nottingham at 12.50pm on Monday afternoon (November 10), after the young man, named as Marley Gascoine, was found with stab wounds. Mr Gascoine was treated by paramedics but, despite their best attempts, he died a short time later. A post mortem examination found that he died from a single stab wound to the chest.
Matthew Smith, 20, from Carlton, has been charged with murder and appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning. He spoke to confirm his name, address and date of birth during his brief appearance.
