NAUVOO, Ill. (WGEM) - The owners of Hotel Nauvoo, a historic inn and restaurant, announced on Friday that they are retiring and do not plan on reopening next year.

In a Facebook post, the owners said they closed for the season on Sunday, and they are now preparing for retirement and focusing on their health.

They reported more details will be available soon, but they do not plan on reopening next year.

They said they have already began refunding gift card balances. They said they are starting with unused cards and issuing refunds directly to the payment card that was used to purchase the gift card.
