An effort by a Sudbury man to withdraw his plea of guilty in his wife’s murder more than three years ago has been delayed.
A Punjabi interpreter failed to show up on Friday in Sudbury court to assist the accused, Hatinder Sharma. As a result, the case was adjourned to a tentative date of Dec. 19.

Sharma pleaded guilty on March 10 to second-degree murder in the death of his wife, Kanika Arora, 27, in their Spruce Street home on Aug. 11, 2022.
A sentencing hearing for Sharma, 37, was set for June 5. However, that was put off when Sharma told the court he and his lawyer, Edmond Paquette, had a falling out. He also said he wanted to recant his guilty plea.
The case, since then, has been tied up in a series of legal proceedings.
