Fans on social media are criticising Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for retaining fast-bowler Yash Dayal ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, despite the pending cases of alleged abuse against him. The franchise released six players ahead of Saturday’s deadline, but kept Dayal on their payroll with his annual contract of Rs. 5 crore.

Two separate criminal cases have been filed against Dayal, in Ghaziabad and Jaipur, respectively, each involving serious allegations of abuse. FIRs have been filed against him in each, which has even led to his ban from playing in his state’s local league, the Uttar Pradesh T20 League.
